That philosophy has shaped Keir Steele Waldon Lawyers since Michael Keir and Jayson Waldon brought together their respective firms in 2019. What began as a shared vision has grown into one of North Queensland’s leading regional law firms, now operating across Townsville, Ingham and the Burdekin, with a team that has more than doubled in size.
Throughout that growth, our purpose has remained unchanged: to make a positive impact on the lives of our staff, our clients and the communities we serve.
Our story, however, is far from complete, and today, we are proud to write another important chapter.
From 1 July 2026, Matthew Keating and Nadette Stafford have become shareholders of Keir Steele Waldon Lawyers and have been appointed as Principals of the firm.
Matthew has been an integral part of Keir Steele Waldon Lawyers since the firm’s inception in 2019. Throughout that time, he has built a reputation for going above and beyond for his clients, Matt’s ability to build genuine relationships and achieve practical outcomes reflects the values that have underpinned KSW’s growth from day one.
As the leader of our Wills & Estates team, Nadette has been instrumental in the growth and success of the practice. Renowned for her meticulous attention to detail and sharp legal mind, she has earned the confidence of clients and colleagues alike. This combined with her commitment to developing those around her reflects the leadership and professionalism that continue to shape the future of our firm.
Their appointments continue the deliberate expansion of our leadership team, following our General Manager, Matthew Colleton becoming a director and shareholder in September 2024. Having worked alongside Michael and Jayson since the firm was established, Matthew has been instrumental in shaping the firm’s strategic direction and growth. Matt’s leadership has played a critical role in transforming a newly merged practice into the thriving regional firm it is today.
These appointments represent another important chapter in the KSW story. We look forward to continuing to grow alongside the people, businesses and communities we are proud to serve.
